As Co-Head of the Planning Group, Laly shares responsibility for the strategic direction and delivery of the financial and estate planning services of the firm. She and her team work directly with clients to gather pertinent data and create strategic paths to reach their short and long term objectives. Laly has helped guide high net worth individuals, foundations and non-profits for over 30 years.
Prior to joining Chevy Chase Trust, Laly held a similar position at Citi Private Bank where she was a Director responsible for financial planning. Previously, Laly was a Managing Director at U.S. Trust Company where she oversaw all aspects of planning in the Washington metropolitan area. From 1995 to 1999, Laly was at Salomon Smith Barney, where she was a founding member of the firm’s structured products and derivatives group. She specialized in hedging strategies for clients with concentrated equity positions. Laly began her career at Citi Private Bank where she worked in Treasury and in fixed income and foreign exchange derivatives.
Laly earned a Master’s from Columbia University, a Master of Science from American University, and a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Washington D.C. Estate Planning Council and the Financial Planning Association.
