John is Senior Advisor and utilizes the expertise he gained from forty-one years in public accounting to advise the firm on internal strategic initiatives and clients of the firm on tax and planning concepts.

Prior to joining Chevy Chase Trust, John co-founded Beers & Cutler, a regional accounting firm which provided a wide range of audit, consulting, and tax services. It grew over the years to become one of the largest accounting firms in the Washington area and one of the top 50 accounting firms in the country. At Beers & Cutler, John specialized in estate and personal tax planning, advising high net worth individuals, families, private foundations, family limited partnerships and multi-generational trusts.

John attended the University of Connecticut and is a board member of the UConn Foundation. He also sits on the Board of Active Minds, an organization focusing on the mental health issues facing college-aged students.
